Facility Description
Ashford Community Cultural Center and Mountaineering Museum
The Park and Facilities will provide a visitor and community gathering and event center as well as a welcoming arrival to the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park.
The site, of approximately 40 acres, is adjacent to Highway 7 in Ashford, a few miles from the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park.
The arrival sequence from Highway 7 brings one through meadows, wetlands, and forest areas to the “mountain lodge” facility that sits on the hill overlooking
the highway and meadows to the south.
The outdoor event area is carved into the hillside and is positioned for unobstructed viewing of the stage with an orientation that keeps the sunlight on the stage and not in spectators’ eyes. The stage is a multi-directional space with the opportunity to be used with the outdoor space as well as the indoor theatre/performance hall.
